It seems many Republicans are objecting to the term “MAGA Republican”. That term seems perfectly clear to me, and is a case of if the shoe fits …
None of us have ever said that every Republican is an insane, Q-frothing psycho case. It is certainly possible there are still some regular decent people who have a legitimate difference with us about the best policies for this country’s future. And we have no beef with them. Bring on the debates, and that’s what elections are for.
But because there is so much confusion about this point, I offer some guidance if you are unclear whether you are a “MAGA Republican” or simply a Republican. These aren’t really meant to be snarky or funny, but take them as they come.
You may be a MAGA Republican …
… if you claim to “support the troops” yet don’t have a problem with a person stealing and probably selling top secret documents that put our troops and our entire nation in danger.
… if you complain about all the “illegals streaming across the border” but are unable to say the difference between an immigrant and a refugee in a single coherent sentence.
… if you are angry about “woke math books” but are incapable of helping your 7th grade daughter with this problem “If the length of the side of a square is doubled, what is the ratio of the areas of the original square to the area of the new square?”
… if you scream about “socialism” but happily receive Medicare or Social Security, have ever called the police or fire department for help, or enjoy driving on toll-free roads.
… if you still claim Trump won the 2020 election after 60+ courts said there was no evidence of significant fraud.
I am sure people can think of many other examples and I encourage you to add them in the comments.
