Just a short note here. For decades, journalists have been describing Trump as a “billionaire” despite the fact that there isn’t a shred of evidence that supports such a claim. All the evidence we do have says he bankrupts everything he touches. He is not a Billionaire in terms of net worth. If we had an honest accounting, it would probably show that he is underwater. But Trump will fight every attempt at an honest accounting. This is why he won’t release his taxes.
Yet the “journalists” keep repeating this “billionaire” crap. That is a violation of the most basic rules of journalism. We should push back every time anybody calls Trump a “billionaire.” The proper response is to interrupt whoever says that with “Wait a minute, you mean Donald Trump who CLAIMS he is a ‘billionaire’ but has never produced any evidence of that.”
And now we have this Epstein crook, who is similarly a huge fraud (and underage sex trafficker to boot.) And once again, the media keeps repeating this “billionaire” bullshit. Tonight Chris Hayes said something to the effect that “He must be a billionaire. He has jets and mansions.”
Really? How stupid is this Hayes clown? Has he never heard of OPM (Other People’s Money). He did go on to reveal that the NY prosecutors argued to the court that Epstein has failed to provide any financial information that is necessary for a bail hearing. But even the prosecutors say Epstein is obviously a man of almost infinite means.
No, it is not obvious, and it is scary that the people investigating this matter don’t seem to have the slightest clue as to how crooks like Epstein, Madoff, and Trump work. I do hope that there is somebody on the case who has at least a little bit of understanding of finance. They do seem to have caught on to the fact that unlike real hedge fund managers who proudly proclaim all the big clients they have, Epstein seems to have had only one client, Les Wexner, and this is a guy who undoubtedly found himself compromised by Epstein’s real business, which is proving underage girls for perverted old men to screw.
Let’s push back on this folks. These people are frauds. They are not billionaires. If they aren’t willing to show their money and how they made it, you can be certain they are frauds.
