Simple question. Why is it that when mostly white people abuse drugs (often illegally) and those drugs are supplied by Big Pharma, we call that an “opioid epidemic” and are all about adding billions of dollars to our government budget to deal with that? But when mostly black folks abuse crack NOT supplied by Big Pharma, we call that “the degeneration of the urban culture” and address this by locking those drug users up for 5 years?
How come nobody is talking about building a bunch of new prisons in West Virginia, Ohio and elsewhere to lock up all the white drug addicts? And how come nobody is talking about locking up the drug pushers working within Big Pharma?
