Did Willis shoot herself in the foot?

I am surprised there is nothing posted on Kos about the charges raised against Willis and her lead prosecutor.  See www.atlantanewsfirst.com/…

The claims:

  • Willis has been having an affair with the lead prosecutor, Wade
  • Willis has been paying Wade an extraordinary amount of money

Neither appear to be crimes on the surface, but are unbelievably tone-deaf and reckless — IF TRUE.

The charges may be completely false, but it is notable that neither Willis nor Wade has denied them.  Here’s the reality:

  • While not illegal, it is a serious ethical question if Willis’ office has paid on the order of a million dollars to her lover.  Perhaps there is some justification for that kind of paycheck.  Certainly, if Wade was billing by the hour, it is conceivable that such a bill could have been run up.  But a lawyer’s hourly rate is typically for a few hours.  When talking about thousands of hours, no taxpayer should be happy about paying $500-1000 per hour, especially when the lawyer is not some nationally recognized all-star.
  • The affair is their own business, but it looks awful if there was such big money being grooved to one’s lover.

And here’s the big one:

  • This is EXACTLY the kind of ethical question that could open the door to the state canning Willis.  If the facts are true, it is irresponsible beyond belief that Willis would have put herself in this position.

She had better come forward with some strong answers or else that entire Atlanta case is going to fall apart before our eyes.  And this may be why we haven’t seen any real movement for several months.  It could be that Meadows, Giuliani and others have known about these charges and fully expect to see Willis removed before any of their cases go tot trial.
